Weekend Planner: Children's Theatre, BlueClaws and Beach Movie

Events to look forward to this weekend in and around Manchester

Saturday should be sunny, with a high of 86 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. That sunshine will fade heading into Sunday, however, as showers and thunderstorms move in.

Here are some ways to spend the weekend:

1. "Willy Wonka Junior" will be staged by the Manchester Department of Recreation's Musical Theatre troupe at Crestwood Village VII's Fernwood Hall in Whiting on Saturday. Tickets to the 7 p.m. performance are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. Kids under 3 are free. The group recently held a .

2. The Lakehurst Fleet Reserve's Jukebox Legends show is set for Saturday at 7 p.m. According to the reserve, tickets are nearly gone, but call 732-657-7575 for more information.

3. South Harbor Marina in Waretown is holding its  on Saturday. Entry fee is $70 per boat and includes a barbecue, music, a T-shirt, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and a Chinese auction. Fifty percent of the proceeds will benefit Ocean of Love and 50 percent will benefit Make-A-Wish.

4. On Sunday, the BlueClaws will take on the Delmarva Shorebirds at 7:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood. Kids 12 and under eat free and a mini jersey pillow will be given away. Call 732-901-7000 for tickets.

5. "City Slickers" will be shown on the beach near Hiering Avenue in Seaside Heights on Sunday. The PG-13-rated film begins at dusk. Call 800-732-7467 for more information.
