Weekend Planner: Hawks Bowling, Arts Reception and Live Music

1. In sports action this weekend, the boys and girls bowling teams will compete in tournaments on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Ocean Lanes in Lakewood. That same day, Manchester runners will compete in the Ocean County Indoor Relays at the John Bennett Indoor Athletic Complex in Toms River at 9 a.m. Tickets are available by calling 908-433-3570.

2. The Ocean County Artists Guild, 22 Chestnut St. in Island Heights, will hold a reception on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. featuring works from faculty and members. Call 732-270-3111 for more information.

4. The Lakehurst Historical Society will be open Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. House in the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Ocean County on 300 Center St. in Lakehurst, the society houses artifacts from the borough's rich history. 5. "Beauty at the Shore" will be highlighted during an ongoing art exhibit at the  of the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington St., Toms River this Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 732-349-6200 for more information.
