Monday, Oct. 17

  • Manchester's PTA will meet at 7 p.m. in the media center at for its first general membership meeting of the 2011-12 school year. A teen service librarian will speak and the PTA budget will be presented. 
  • students will have early dismissal for parent-teacher conferences.
  • From 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Workforce New Jersey's Christine Karaska will be at the Connection's Ocean County Mall office with tips on how to land the right job. Bring your resume to the Connection's office. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

  • Voters must register by today to vote in the Nov. 8 general election. Registration forms can be picked up at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall. 
  • Manchester's Environmental Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the township's  on Colonial Drive.
  • Adopt-A-Shelf volunteer training will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at of the Ocean County Library. Call 732-657-7600 for more information on the program and to register.
  • The Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce N.J.'s Veterans Assistance will be available to help vets from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you're a veteran in need of information about employment, health services and benefits, the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall may be of help. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

  • Manchester's  will meet at  at 7:30 p.m. for its September meeting.
  • Ocean County Office of Senior Services representatives will be at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall to help residents with their Medicare selections now that open enrollment has arrived. Call 732-288-7777 to make an appointment.
  • The boys and girls soccer teams will face Matawan Regional at 4 p.m. The boys will host their opponent at the Manchester/Lakehurst Soccer Association fields on Colonial Drive, while the girls will travel to Matawan. 

Thursday, Oct. 20

  • The  will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the community center located on Center Street.
  • Club Pokemon will meet at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library at 6:30 p.m. Children ages 9-12 can battle other Pokemon players, meet friends and trade cards. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
  • The Hawks girls volleyball team will host Toms River East at 3:45 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

  • A representative from the Ocean County Consumer Affairs Department will help get answers for those with consumer issues from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.
  • Pinelands Regional will travel to Manchester to take on the Hawks football team at 7 p.m. 
  • Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend the Chess Club at  from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The library asks that participants bring their own boards. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

Saturday, Oct. 22

  • will host the "Music Under the Stars" marching band show at 5 p.m. The Hawks will compete against Jackson Memorial, Jackson Liberty, Freehold and Toms River East. Ticket proceeds will go to benefit the marching band program. 

Sunday, Oct. 23

  • The Pine Lake Park Club House will hold its Children's Halloween Party from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is required. Call 732-505-0074 for more information.
