Monday, Oct. 3

  • Manchester Township's planning board will meet at 7 p.m. at the  on Colonial Drive. 
  • Author John Gibbs will moderate a discussion on the "Nuts and Bolts" of book writing at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

  • The Writer's Circle will meet at  of the Ocean County Library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The group allows aspiring and accomplished writers to share tips and critique each other's works. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
  • The Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce N.J.'s Veterans Assistance will be available to help vets from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you're a veteran in need of information about employment, health services and benefits, the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall may be of help. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

Wednesday, Oct. 5

  • Toddler Time at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library will be at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Children ages 1-3 can listen to stories, play and more. For details, call 732-657-7600.
  • The film "Something Borrowed" will be screened at the library at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The PG-13 rated film runs for 112 minutes.

Thursday, Oct. 6

  • The will meet at the community center on Center Street for its first October meeting at 7:30 p.m.
  • David Greco from Mike's Deli on Arthur Avenur in The Bronx and television food series will be at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Greco will host a cooking demonstration and have deli products available for purchase. For more information, call 732-657-7600. 
  • The Ocean County Connection in the county mall will hold a depression awareness program from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

Friday, Oct. 7

  • A PTA fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Bubbakoos Burritos, 1311 Route 37, Toms River. Present this flyer and 15 percent of your order price will be donated to the PTA.
  • Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend the Chess Club at  from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The library asks that participants bring their own boards. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
  • The Ocean County Mentoring Program would like adult volunteers to work with boys and girls ages 8 to 11. The program coordinator will be available to discuss the details at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
