Monday, Sept. 26

  • Manchester's Township Council will meet at 6 p.m. at the  on Colonial Drive. Agenda items are available online.
  • Meridian Women's Heart Connection will be at of the Ocean County Library for an afternoon of tea and heart health from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

  • The Manchester Municipal Alliance is set to meet at the township's civic center in the on Colonial Drive at 7 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome. Call 732-657-8121, ext. 3901 for more information.
  • The girls tennis team will host Raritan at 3:45 p.m.
  • The Ocean County Board of Social Services will be at the Community Connection in the Ocean County Mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to talk to eligible residents about assistance programs. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.
  • The Better Balance for Seniors program at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Balance exercises and techniques will be demonstrated. For more information, call 732-657-7600.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

  • "The Conspirator," a film about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, will be shown as part of the Ocean County Library Manchester branch's Feature Film Festival at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The PG-13 rated film runs 122 minutes.
  • The Hawks boys soccer team will host Lacey at 3:45 p.m. at the Lakehurst/Manchester Soccer Association fields on Colonial Drive.
  • The Lakehurst Historical Society will be open today from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. House in the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Ocean County on 300 Center St. in Lakehurst, the society houses artifacts from the borough's rich history. Thursday, Sept. 29

  • Manchester Township High School's World Language Club will meet in the cafeteria beginning at 1:55 p.m.
  • Zumba for Kids begins at 6:30 p.m. at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library. The program is for children ages 9-13. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
  • The library will also hold a Henna tattoo craft program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for children in grades 7-12. Permission slips are required and can be picked up at the children's desk. 

Friday, Sept. 30

  • The Hawks football team will host Lacey for a 7 p.m. game. Manchester's squad has a 2-1 record this season.
  • Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend the Chess Club at  beginning at 12 p.m. The library asks that participants bring their own boards. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
  • A medication management program run by the Ocean County Health Department by a grant from the Office of Senior Services will cover how to properly manage a regimen. A question and answer session is part of the program. For more information, call 732-657-7600.

Saturday, Oct. 1

  • The Hawks girls volleyball team will travel to Colts Neck for a 2:30 p.m. match.
  • If your child needs a bit of help with his or her reading skills, the "Read to the Dogs" program at the library may help. Beginner readers can hone their reading skills as a certified therapy dog listens patiently from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration for a 15 minute slot is required by calling 732-657-7600.
