Monday, Oct. 31

  • Trick or treating in Manchester and Lakehurst is scheduled for today. .
  • The girls volleyball team will host wall for a 4 p.m. game in the high school gymnasium.

Tuesday, Nov. 1

  • The Teen Advisory Board, a group for students in grades 7-12, will meet at of the Ocean County Library at 6:30 p.m. New members are encouraged to join. Call 732-657-7600 for information. 
  • The Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce NJ's Veterans Assistance will be available to help vets from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you're a veteran who needs information on employment, health services and benefits, stop by the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

Wednesday, Nov. 2

  • The Play with Purpose seminar presented by Within Reach Parent Child Classes will have two sessions at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library: 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Call 732-657-7600 to register. 
  • Also at the library, "The Music Never Stopped" will be screened at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The PG-rated film runs 105 minutes.
  • The NJROTC annual inspection will be held at 7:10 a.m. in Manchester Township High School's gymnasium.

Thursday, Nov. 3

  • The will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center on 207 Center St. for its only November meeting. 
  • A Tarot reading sponsored by the Friends of the Manchester Library will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Half of a $20 donation per session will benefit the Friends. 
  • A flu shot and pneumonia vaccination clinic will be held by the Ocean County Health Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall. No appointment is necessary. Shots are covered by Medicare Part B or $20 for those without coverage. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

Friday, Nov. 4

  • Representatives from the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance will speak to residents about federal health care reform at 2 p.m. at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
  • The Hawks football team will travel to Point Pleasant Borough High School for a 7 p.m. game. 
  • Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend the Chess Club at  from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The library asks that participants bring their own boards. 
  • The Ocean County Mentoring Program would like adult volunteers to work with boys and girls ages 8 to 11. The program coordinator will be available to discuss the details at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 5

  • A reception for the Friends of the Manchester branch of the Ocean County Library silent auction will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bids on works by local artists can be placed from Nov. 1-25. 
  • Also at the library, the Lego Club for children ages 6-12 will meet at 11 a.m.
