MTHS Presents The Drowsy Chaperone

The public is invited to the MTHS Drama Club production of The Drowsy Chaperone on Friday, March 2 at 7PM, and Saturday, March 3 at 2PM and 8PM.

The Drowsy Chaperone is a spoof of 1920s Broadway musicals and their fans. The play-within-a-play has a man in a chair listening to a "old" recording a 1920s musical, which comes to life in his apartment. The show pokes fun at Broadway song and dance numbers as well as at the themes and stereotypical characters of musical theater, including mistaken identity, an engagement, and dream sequences. The show blends the best of 1920s musical theater without taking itself too seriously. The light-hearted comedy runs about 2 hours, 30 minutes.

Advance ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for students.  All tickets $10 at the door.  Shows begin promptly at the times listed, and latecomers will be seated at the intermission. Doors open and day-of ticket sales begin 30 minutes prior to curtain time.
