Free Bottled Water And Ice To Those Without Electrcity

Jersey Central Power & Light giving away water and ice to affected customers

Jersey Central Power & Light is giving away free bottled water and ice to those affected by widespread power outages.

The utility on Tuesday afternoon reported that nearly 600 customers in Whiting remain without service, while just 28 in Manchester and 13 in Lakehurst are still in the dark, days after Hurrican Irene leaving some fallen trees and downed power lines.

But those without electricity can pick up free water and ice at the on Route 70 in Manchester, courtesy of the power company, which has set up distribution centers at participating supermarkets around the reagion.
