Manchester, Lakehurst Schools Delayed 90 Minutes

Coating of snow overnight forces delay

The Manchester and Lakehurst school districts this morning announced that all schools opened 90 minutes late this morning due to the snow that fell overnight. 

The Manchester school district offers a calculator on its website to determine when your child should head to the bus stop. 

The Ocean County Vocational Technical School Performing Arts Academy in Lakehurst also opened 90 minutes delay today.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst stated that it is open for normal operations today but that personnel should exercise caution while coming to work. 

The National Weather Service at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday morning issued a Special Weather Statement for Ocean County, warning that "driving conditions may be less than ideal during this morning's commute" as "untreated roads may be slippery."

Monday, the service predicted that 1-3 inches of snow could fall in our area overnight. 

The service expects clouds for most of the Tuesday and eventual sun with a high temperature of 33 degrees. Tuesday night's low should reach 13 degrees.
