Police received a 911 call from a Pine Lake Park resident who lives on the 2000 block of Eighth Avenue at 8:33 a.m. The caller told police there was an intruder in his home. He woke up and heard someone walking around his house, Parker said.

Police dispatchers advised the resident to leave the home until police arrived. The caller saw a white female with dyed red hair flee his home and run down Eighth Avenue toward the Pine Lake Park Clubhouse, she said.

Police contacted the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office for a K-9 officer and the Criminalistics Unit. Manchester officers Scott Thomas, Thomas O'Hare and Michael Terranova narrowed the search to Bartles' home and arrested her, Parker said.
