Seaside Heights kids enjoy a special night out

Seaside Heights kids who had been displaced by Hurricane Sandy recently found an inland refuge: Whiting.

On Friday, Dec. 7th, the Whiting Girl Scout Troop 415 held its annual Super Sweet Holiday Party for scouts and friends at the Whiting Elementary All-Purpose room.

But this years party was "extra special," troop leaders say, because the girls reached out to sister scouts from the Seaside Heights area.

Troop 415 collected many toys for Kevin's Kids. They did this by asking for participants to bring a new toy for donation in return for a chance ticket to win a Christmas gift basket, troop leaders said.

"The girls are looking forward to delivering the toys to Ridgeway school for the wrapping session this weekend," according to a release signed by Tara Klein, Lisa Mitchell and Jane Weber, leaders Troop 415.
