Manchester schools to have 90-minute delayed opening Thursday

Gearing up for another winter storm, businesses, schools, offices and travelling will be affected. Here is an ongoing list of local alerts:

• Manchester Township schools will open with a 90-minute delayed opening, according to Public Information Officer Lee Bruzaitis. Consult this timetable to find out when kids should be at the bus stop.
• The Manchester Municipal Complex is open and Mayor Michael Fressola said that employees made it in with no problem.
• Gov. Chris Christie announced a two hour delayed opening for state offices on Wednesday.
• Ocean County Library, which includes the Manchester Branch, opened at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
• Plows have been spotted in Lakehurst as of about 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
• Conditions on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst are yellow, meaning that roads on base are hazardous. 
• Government offices will remain open until further notice.
• The South Jersey Track Meet at the John Bennet Indoor Athletic Complex in Toms River has been postponed until Jan. 22.
• Wednesday's Freshman Novice Track Meet at the John Bennet Indoor Athletic Complex in Toms River has been postponed until Jan. 18.
• Wednesday's day and evening classes are cancelled at Ocean County College.
• NJ Transit is operating on a normal weekday schedule. Center doors on single-level rail cars will not be used because those doors are susceptible to snow and ice issues. NJ Transit is asking customers to use the doors located at the ends of each rail car. Cross-honoring will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and continue through Wednesday. This allows customers to use their tickets for alternate travel modes: rail, bus, or light rail.
• Residents are urged to comply with town codes and remove vehicles from roadways so township crews can best plow municipal roads.
