  • A Thursday evening  along Route 70 injured six and closed a portion of the state highway for more than five hours, police said.
  • Though the  brought on by Hurricane Irene may have subsided, some Manchester residents will for some time to come.
  • Manchester  President Donald Webster in response to a correspondence sent by the governor prior to school elections in April. Webster addresses tenure reform, teacher evaluation and Manchester's limited state aid.
  •  will spend less than $1.5 million approaching county bridges, guard rails and streets near culverts under highways, a price that would have been two or three times that much had private contractors been used instead of county crews, according to Freeholder John P. Kelly.

  • Manager Miguel Solano has worked at Emilio's Restaurant and Pizza since it opened 17 years ago. In all that time, business has never been this bad. "We're down about 85 percent," he said from behind the counter of the restaurant located on Route 571 and 10th Avenue in Manchester.
  •  Chief Brian Klimakowski provided Patch with photos he took Monday morning as he surveyed the flooding caused as the rivers rose in the wake of Hurricane Irene. 
  • More than late Sunday night into early Monday morning as flooding after Hurricane Irene continues to affect portions of the Toms River in Manchester.
  • Classes won’t begin at Manchester High School until Tuesday, but its boys varsity soccer team . Looking to improve cohesiveness and dispel the negativity that infiltrated the team much of last fall, coach Brian Slota put team through intensive team and character building exercises as it prepares for the 2011 season.
