New Footage Of Hindenburg Disaster Surfaces, Report Says


There was a bit of news made Tuesday night out of the memorial service to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Hindenburg disaster at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press.

Rick Zitarosa, vice president of the Navy Lakehurst Historical Society, said his organization has reviewed never-before-seen film — at least, he indicated it has never been seen before by the general public — of the fiery crash of the zeppelin Hindenburg here, taken at a different angle than the newsreel films we have seen in the past.
