Mayor: Statement Made About Himself, Others, Houses "Downright Lie"

Dear Editor:

This is in regards to a comment made by one Ray Piacentio on January 5, 2014 in reference to my published letter entitled “Manchester Services Criticism Unfounded, Mayor Says”.  I find it very difficult to believe you would publish wild, libelous, untrue statements of this magnitude.

There is not one true statement in this man’s comments.  There are nowhere near 72 abandoned houses in the area he referred to.

His statement about my comments to his 85 year old grandmother is a downright lie.  I have not attended a Council meeting in over 8 years, except as a spectator, once a year at reorganization time.

I will be talking to my attorney shortly to bring action against this individual if I can locate him and include Patch and you in any action I take.

Sincerely,

Michael Fressola

Mayor

Is this mayor related to that jerk in NY who threatened that reporter in the Capital building?
bayway mike January 30, 2014 at 08:09 PM
@ The Mayor, It's called FREEDOM of SPEECH!!! And if I called you a DOPE, would you include me in your lawsuit also???
Prettyinpink January 30, 2014 at 08:36 PM
Where is the original letter to Editor from 'Ray'? Would love to read it.
Just another day January 30, 2014 at 08:51 PM
It's beyond me why The Patch would be printing the threatening ranting's of your insane mayor. Obviously this nut is using your Patch to threaten people.
Mark Wendell January 30, 2014 at 09:52 PM
After living in Manchester since 1995 I have become quite used to this.........sad.
diane January 30, 2014 at 09:57 PM
WOW this guy needs some major medication...how dare you talk to anyone that way...seems to me you are protesting to loudly mr. mayor...something to hide perhaps.???
KSU January 31, 2014 at 07:04 AM
I'm sure the mayor will have no problem locating this gentleman. He has abused his power before by illegally running someone's license plate and then sent a letter to them.
Freezinginmanchester January 31, 2014 at 07:18 AM
Agree with Mark Wendell. As incredible as it appears when you read it, I believe the residents of Manchester have grown reluctantly complacent to his rants. The Mayor apparently believes he can do as he pleases because there will be no repercussion. So unprofessional. I believe my high schooler could have written a more professional letter than the Mayor.
Brian O'Callaghan January 31, 2014 at 08:07 AM
No doubt you have heard of former Congressman Weiner from NY? Well now meet Mayor Whiner....Boo Hoo. Or should I say major whiner
Nobody Important January 31, 2014 at 08:42 AM
I have to agree with Mark Wendell (above). I have been living in Manchester since 2001, and I thought this would be the last place I would live before I went to my "eternal home". After all I see going on in this municipality, I am "rethinking" that thought. I can only hope that all of who commented above, and all other citizens of Manchester, NJ, are smart enough to vote this Mayor, and any other elected officials running for reelection, out of office. This is an election year, is it not? I understand at one time, Manchester, NJ was THE place to live (in Ocean County, maybe in all of NJ). Let's make it that way again!!! P. S. How can I read this letter of January 5, 2014, and ALL accompanying comments?
Nobody Important January 31, 2014 at 08:49 AM
I have read (in the Patch) previously, that a comment was made about how the Manchester municipal government was modeled and run similarly to the federal government. I take a look at what is going on in the federal and Manchester governments these days, and I agree with that comment.

Funny, I have also thought I could live thru til retirement years in Manchester. But due to all the increases in taxes and bullshit, I was forced to sell
KAREN A KINCAID January 31, 2014 at 09:48 AM
Dear Mayor After reading what the person said about the comment to the grandmother. I found this to be weird. doesn't like anything a mayor would say to someone 1) who is 85 and 2) to a voter. NOW, being I was not at this meeting, I can't say for sure right or wrong. However, don't spend your money on an attorney. Sounds like this jerk is blowing off steam. Take it for what it's worth. I think your doing a wonderful job. Don't let ppl like this clown piss in your cheerios!!!
Are you serious? January 31, 2014 at 11:26 AM
DAM Just shut down Route 70 in retaliation like the big boys
Ray piacentio January 31, 2014 at 12:05 PM
Yea i think mayor needs to reconsider wasting tax payers money. I am one one who wrote that and said nothing that i am not entitled to. FREE SPEECH its in the constitutional rights. What do u have to bring lawyer in for? Didnt say anything bad to slander you. Dont worry mayor im outta manchester in 6 months. If u would like to contact me i will be happy to stop in your office. No need to waste tax payers money hunting me down.
Ray piacentio January 31, 2014 at 12:06 PM
Dont send letters to my family threatning them cause i will be happy to sue u. We can settle it man to man.
Raymond Piacentino January 31, 2014 at 12:22 PM

diane January 31, 2014 at 03:16 PM
well now that I've heard from both sides of this pissing contest..i think they are both crazy...what a waste of space on the patch or anyplace else..one cant spell and the other is in charge of the funny farm...my suggestion is you two men take this out back and bring a ruler with you...and may the best idiot win
Mark Wendell January 31, 2014 at 04:05 PM
This reminds me of the time the town elected that younger guy, Weiner I think his name is, and he wrote the how dare you voters elect this guy letter. This guys history is amazing. Wow, a pol would have to have a fleet of lawyers is they sued everytime they got slandered if that's what even the case. Grow up.
Ray piacentio January 31, 2014 at 04:33 PM
Lol...well diane i am not an idiot number one... number two when typing on my phone kinda do shortcut writing. Anywho that was my father who mispelled but he is blind in 1 eye and has limited sight in other so excuse him. You dont know complete story on my original statement and why i said the things i said long story and if I told you what i been thru with the police in this town u would agree with me. I almost lost a family member cause of the police negligence but to be honest with you it isnt completely 100% there fault. Law makers are just pencil pushers and know nothing of the real world expierence. Everyone is entitled to there opinion. I spoke mine.
bayway mike January 31, 2014 at 04:49 PM
