Events to check out in and around Manchester and Lakehurst this weekend

1. A "Caribbean Fest" buffet dinner/dance benefitting the Friends of the Manchester Library will be held at the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 hall Saturday at 6 p.m. For tickets and more information, call Linda at 732-323-0125 or Marion at 732-323-0798.

2. The Ocean County Historical Society Museum will host a Victorian Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its 26 Hadley Ave. location. Call 732-341-1880 for more information.

3. The at the Asbury Park Convention Hall Saturday. It's Philly versus the Jersey Shore as these two women's roller derby teams battle it out with hard-hitting blocks, checks and jams to score the most points. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. but the whistle blows at 8 a.m. Tickets are available online or at the door. 

4. The Lakewood BlueClaws are in action against the Greenville Drive at 4:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday at FirstEnergy Park. Call 732-901-7000 for ticket information.

5. The Lakehurst Historical Society will be open Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Housed in the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Ocean County on 300 Center St. in Lakehurst, the society houses artifacts from the borough's rich history. A friendly staff can to provide tours and answer questions. Call 732-657-8864 for more information.
