Weekend Planner: Life Jacket Box Build, Animal Adoption Spring Fling and More

1. A "Kids Don't Float" life jacket box build project sponsored by the New Jersey State Police will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company headquarters on Commonwealth Boulevard. Materials will be provided. 

2. The Music with Friends: Musical Fun for Kids with Autism program will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at  of the Ocean County Library. Children ages 6 through 9 and their parents are welcome. More information is available by calling 732-657-7600.

3. The Spring Fling adoption event at the Northern Ocean County Animal Shelter will be held Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the 615 Freemont Ave., Jackson, location. . 

4. The Lakehurst Historical Society will be open Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m. House in the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Ocean County on 300 Center St. in Lakehurst, the society houses artifacts from the borough's rich history. A friendly staff is more than willing to provide tours and answer questions. Call 732-657-8864 for more information.

5. The Oceanaires will hold a reception at Ocean County College at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Arts and Community Center. Call 732-255-0500 for more information.
