Weekend Planner: Pine Lake Park Yard Sale, Flag Retirement Ceremony

1. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the Pine Lake Park Taxpayers Improvement Association will host a community-wide yard sale. Maps of participating homes will be available on the days of the sale at Emilio's Pizza, Lucky 7 Deli and in the Pine lake Park Clubhouse mailbox. Yellow smiley face balloons will be distributed to participating homes.

2. The Knights of Columbus Council No. 12940 of St. John's Church on Chestnut Street in Lakehurst will host a flag retirement ceremony on Sunday at 1 p.m. Girl and Boy Scouts, Mayor Harry Robbins and community groups are expected to attend.

3. , 1980 Route 37, and The Haven at Silverwoods will sponsor a fundraiser for the National Alzheimer's Association from 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday. When patrons tell their server they are there for the fundraiser, 15 percent of their bill will be donated to the organization. 

4. A free Country Fair at the Christ Lutheran Church, 40 Schoolhouse Rd. in Whiting will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

5. The Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce will host its Festival of the Sea from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, with Sunday scheduled as the rain date. The festival is located in the heart of downtown Point Pleasant Beach. Arnold and Bay avenues will be closed for the festivities.
