With Classes Less Than a Week Away, District Offers Back to School Tips

Students head back to school on Wednesday, Sept. 5

Before heading back to Manchester schools next week, the district has outlined ways for students and parents to prepare for the new year which begins on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Getting to school promptly and safely is always a main concern for parents — bus passes should have been received by Aug. 30. If a pass has not been received, parents should call the Transportation Department at 732-849-2812, according to a message posted to the district website

Parents are also asked to have their child at the bus stop 10 minutes before the time listed on bus passes on the first day of school.

"Please be advised that buses may run late or early for the first few weeks until schedules are fine-tuned," the message states.

Parents of kindergarten students are reminded that their child only will be released to them or another authorized individual. Arrangements can be made by calling the Transportation Department.

Other items addressed in the note include the prompt completion of emergency contact forms, student pickup procedures and getting the most out of the district's more interactive website.
