'Not in My Neighborhood'

My reality check as a sign is stolen from Route 70

Recently, we experienced a theft of one of our new commercial grade, bolted down business marker signs from Route 70 in Lakehurst.

Not something major in my life or business, but something that makes you question the morals of human beings. It wasn’t even the monetary value that bothered me so much, it was the feeling you get when someone close disappoints you.

As I’m discussing the theft situation with a close friend who is in the commercial real estate business, I say to him, “Well hope that whoever took my sign needed it more than I did (always trying to take the high road). Can’t imagine what they are going to do with it.”

My friend replied, “Hey, are you kidding me, these are tough times, my signs are stolen all the time, the thieves paint over your info, add their business info and they have a nice new sign for their use."

Hmmm, interesting, but what about karma? Aren’t they afraid of karma? Don’t they have a conscious?  It’s tough times for everyone, but how do you take something that isn’t yours?

Well, maybe I will never understand,  but what matters is that I’m over the disappointment, renewed my trust in mankind and I just finished putting in my order for a new electrified, poison-coated business marker sign that should be installed in the next couple of weeks.
