Family members beamed and wiped away tears of pride as Regional Day School at Jackson said goodbye to seven graduating students on June 6.

Principal Lisa Michallis introduced the graduates, who each wore a cap and gown in the colors of their hometown high school as they walked down the aisle with their families and fellow students cheering them on. The graduates and their home schools are: Daquan A. of Neptune HS, Jillian B. of Central Regional, Rebecca G. of Toms River North, Frank G. of Freehold Regional, Joseph P. of Middletown HS North, Morgan R. of Jackson Liberty, Khaleel R.of Toms River East, and Ali W. of Toms River East.

The graduates each received diplomas from their home districts as well as gifts from the Manchester Township Education Association and Administrator’s Unit. They also received awards for their participation in Industrial Technology and Safety Patrol and were given beautiful wooden clocks made by students in the school’s industrial arts shop. Arielle C., an underclass student, received the Regional Day School Caring Award.

Evolution Quartet, a local barbershop quartet, performed at the ceremony, as has been tradition for several years. Student Dillin V. sang ‘I Made it Through the Rain’ to honor the graduates and graduate Ali W. read a moving note thanking everyone at Regional Day for helping him during his time there.
