School District Receives Clean Audit & 17th Consecutive Financial Award
Dave Gannon, CPA from the accounting firm, Wiss & Company, reviewed the Manchester Township School District’s audit for the 2012-2013 fiscal year at the October 16, 2013 Board of Education meeting. Gannon reported that the district received an “unmodified opinion” which means there were no findings.
“Your financial records are in very good shape, in excellent condition,” he told the board. He reported that the district’s fund balance, which has been extremely low in recent years, increased by a half million dollars this year, which he said puts the district in a much healthier position in the event of an emergency need. “I want to take this opportunity to recognize the professionalism and dedication of the board’s employees who are always very professional and conscientious,” he remarked.
Gannon also congratulated the district on receiving the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 17th consecutive year, which he and Business Administrator, Craig Lorentzen, presented to the Board.

“Achieving a clean audit and the Certificate of Excellence is not accomplished just by the board office, it is a district-wide, group effort and everyone should be commended for their efforts,” said Lorentzen.
Board of Education President, Donald Webster, Jr., said he also wanted to commend Mr. Lorentzen and his staff and asked the administrators present at the meeting to convey his appreciation to their employees for a job well done.
