John F. Orr, 74, of Whiting died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Community Medical Center in Toms River.
He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania and lived in Lakewood before moving to Whiting in 2002.
Mr. Orr served in the US Army.
He worked in the warehouse for Pathmark in Carteret for many years before retiring. He was a prior member of the American Legion Post 166 in Lakewood; he worked the ingo and also was Safety Patrol at Crestwood Village #2 in Whiting.
He was predeceased by his first wife Jean Carol Orr in 2004. Surviving is his wife Janet Beam Orr; his son John Orr, his daughters Jeannine Johnson and Jacqueline Lange all of Toms River and four grandchildren Vanessa Rodgers, Megan Lange, Mikeala Johnson and Jordon Johnson.
Visitation will be Thursday April 17, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com
