John Davis Of Whiting Dies At 77

John Davis, 77, of Whiting passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Community Medical Center in  Toms River, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Hoboken,  then moved to Old Bridge and Manalapan, before retiring to Whiting. John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in England.

He was employed by Maxwell House Coffee in Hoboken for 34 years, retiring in 1991. In the midst of his career and during retirement John enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team, The Mets, going to the racetrack, and visiting Atlantic City with his wife and friends. He enjoyed his quiet times relaxing at home. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren's sporting activities.

John was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Davis and mother Marie nee Reynolds Davis. John is survived by his beautiful wife of 51 years, Catherine "Kitty" Davis, his daughter and son-in-law, Gail andJerry Caldwell, and two grandchildren, Gregory and Ashley Caldwell. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Davis and two sisters, Marion Dunn and Catherine Sheehan.
