Michael “Bubba” Marshall, 55, Manchester Wrestling Star, Dies

Michael “Bubba” Marshall, a Manchester resident who starred at the high school as a wrestler, died Thursday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was 55, according to www.oliveriefuneralhome.com

He worked for Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center from 1999-2006 as a Juvenile Corrections Officer prior to the New Lisbon Developmental Center as a Human Service Assistant for the past 5 years.

Born in Mt Holly he resided in Manchester his whole life. He wrestled for Manchester High School in the heavyweight division. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his mother, Mercedes Marshall of Manchester, 2 daughters, Selena & Jessica Marshall of Manchester, brother, Daniel & wife Heidi of Toms River, Aunt, Leola Gordon of Whiting and grandson Jalen Briscoe.

He was also loved by his cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester with 8:30 pm service with a private cremation to follow.
