Hawks Win Championship!!

Dear Manchester Patch:

            On Monday, December 20, 2103, Manchester Township had a great night.  Our Varsity Boys Basketball Team won the WOBM Christmas Classic for the first time in school history!  As an alumnus, I was proud to see the Boys advance to the finals.  I was impressed to see the team out perform their pre-tournament 6th seed.  I was excited that a Manchester team would be playing in the big game!  I have to say, going to the game, watching the boys out hustle, out game plan, and out perform the pre-tournament #1 seed from Jackson Memorial High School was awesome.  From the opening tip to the final tick of the clock, our boys were tenacious, poised and confident, dropping three’s from all over the court and never conceding an inch.  Almost as impressive as the boys play on the court was the showing of Manchester faithful.  Amongst the crowd included about 100 boisterous members of the student body (aka The Manchester “Maniacs”), teachers, parents, alumni and administrators.  It was truly a great moment for Manchester sports.  As the championship trophy was hoisted, the feelings of pride and accomplishment were palpable.  Great job Hawks and good luck the rest of the season!!
