Scared driver

Just recently I was traveling on Rt. 70 when I noticed a vehicle driving erratically. I decided to phone 911. I was transferred over 5 times...no police were avail in Pemberton or Woodland, the state police had nobody.  When I told them to phone ahead to the Manchester police, I just stayed idle with the dispatcher giving her a blow by blow description and I don't think she listened to that nor do I think they caught this person. That vehicle almost slammed me as I turned off which I told her. What is a driver to do when something like this happens? I am so disappointed in the police. I just pray nobody got hurt or killed. Any advise if this ever happens again?

I can't understand the non-response from the police. Were you not believed? Were they going to wait until something happened? I was thinking that if you had the means you could have gotten a video of this event--but then you probably would have been in trouble for using a phone while driving! How ironic is that? Guess you have done the only thing you could after not getting a response--writing this post and letting everyone know what happened and the lack of response to your warning. Also, get the license plate number if you can. I would say "citizen's arrest" but this could be very dangerous to do and also endanger yourself. This greatly disappoints me since many years ago I saw a very erratic and dangerous driver on Route 206 and did not have a cell phone with me at the time. So glad you and apparently no one else was hurt. How frustrating, esp. when I see so much bad driving around here on a daily basis. Thank you for speaking up.

If you have OnStar in your car, you can report something like that to them and they know your exact location and contact police.

It's unfortunate that I do not have onstar, but I don't see that to be any better. The state police dispatcher did stay on the phone, but she failed to understand that I gave a detailed description of the vehicle and I could not get a plate number due to the distance. She failed to convey the description to the police departments she dispatched until I yelled it over and over again. I am extremely disappointed and very concerned about the situation and if it happened again, and something worse occurred, would it be dismissed again? I truly am searching for a long term answer should this ever occur to me or anyone else out there.
