June Jamboree and Garage Sale

It’s time for the Annual Volunteer Auxiliary for Animal Shelters Inc. “June Jamboree and Garage Sale.”  The Jamboree will be held at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, on 615 Freemont Ave., in Jackson, this Saturday June 18  from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Our Garage Sale was a HUGE hit last year, so we are making it even bigger this year. The Garage Sale will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. BUT, we are not stopping there... we will have Pet Games and People Contests running from 1 p.m to 4 p.m.

PET GAMES 

1. Physical Attributes:

• Pet with the Longest Tail
• Pet with the Shortest Legs
• Pet with the Longest Ears
• Pet with the Shiniest Coat

2. Lookalike Contest: Let’s see who looks like their pet.

3. Ugliest Pet Contest: NO LAUGHING, but they’re so ugly, they’re cute!

4. Most Talented Pet Contest: Show us what your pet can do -- tricks, skills, obedience -- let’s see it! 

5. Musical Towels: Just like musical chairs, but for the pets and handlers.

PEOPLE CONTESTS 

1. Guess How Many Biscuits: Guess how many dog biscuits are in the jar, without going over, and receive a prize. 

2. Rooster Crowing Contest: Let’s see who sounds most like a rooster. 

3. Watermelon Eating Contest: YUM! Who can eat a piece of watermelon the fastest? 

4. Silly Human Tricks: Show us your best trick.

5. Children’s Musical Towels: Children 10 and under may participate.

We will be serving up some food, as well as fun. Indulge in some goodies from our bake sale, enjoy a hot dog and soda or cool off with a snow cone while watching the games.

Bring your pet for a Customized  Summer Themed Portrait, by our talented team of "Petographers." You'll get a nice keepsake and the satisfaction of knowing your helping out our homeless pets!
