Ocean County grand jury hands up two indictments to Manchester residents for forging checks
An Ocean County grand jury last week handed up indictments to two Manchester residents in unrelated incidents involving forged checks.
Yolanda E. Huertas, 42, of Horicon Road, Manchester, faces charges for allegedly forging two checks worth $1,300 and passing them at bank branches in Toms River and Manchester on Nov. 22 and Jan. 13, authorities said.. Huertas was also charged with theft by deception of that sum from the bilked account holder.
Christopher Nichols, 29, of Neal Place, Manchester, was indicted for allegedly passing nine forged checks drawn on the account of Eddie B and Sons Painting at bank branches in Toms River and Manchester between Jan. 27 and Feb. 7 and stealing more than $500 from the owner of that company by deception, authorities said.
