A Textbook Robbery: Bloomfield police say a woman used her smarts, and her text message allotment, to get back her stolen property. After someone snatched her purse (with her phone inside) at a supermarket, ," police said. The supermarket's manager said someone returned the purse just a few minutes later.

Emergency ... or Not: South Brunswick police say they were trying to pull over a North Brunswick man, but he just wouldn't stop. And the man called dispatch, police said, to let them know it was because he had an emergency at home. But when police finally caught up to him? According to South Brunswick Police spokesman Sgt. Jim Ryan, the man "explained that he knew he had outstanding warrants and the car was unregistered. ... ."
