Airlift Required for Motorcyclist Following Thursday Crash

Crash occurred at the intersection of Routes 571 and 547

A township man was airlifted to an area hospital after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a car at the intersection of two county highways Thursday evening.

Ryan Paluski, a 23-year-old from Whiting, was riding a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle when it was involved in a crash with a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon driven by 85-year-old Aurthur Dallemolle of Beachwood at the intersection of Routes 571 and 547 at about 6:10 p.m., said Capt. Lisa Parker.

Paluski was traveling north on Route 547 while Dallemolle was driving south and readying a left hand turn on to Route 571 at the time of the crash, Parker said.

A helicopter transport took Paluski to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for "multiple fractures and internal injuries," Parker said, adding that the other driver did not report any injuries.

"The motorcycle rider reported to be wearing a [Department of Transportation] approved full face helmet at the time of the crash," Parker said.

A police presence remained at the scene until after 8 p.m. Thursday night, though the area has since been cleared.

Ptl. Antonio Ellis of the police department's Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash, Parker said.

In addition to police, the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department, Manchester Volunteer First Aid Squad and MONOC paramedics responded.
