Car Hits Utility Pole On Ridgeway Boulevard

Driver determined to be driving under the influence

Manchester Township police were notified by a 911 caller that a car crashed into a utility pole on Ridgeway Bouevard near Ridge Road on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:41 am.

When Patrolman Adam Guker arrived, he found the driver, Karl Kovacofsky, 30, of Manchester Township, outside of his overturned 2002 Nissan Altima, police said.

Though Kovackofsky stated he was not injured, the Manchester Township First Aid and Rescue Squad responded as a precaution, ultimately releasing Kovackofsky when he refused medical treatment, according to police.

Based on Patrolman Guker’s investigation, it was determined that Kovackofsky was driving under the influence and was subsequently arrested.

He was served motor vehicle summonses and released pending municipal court.

JCP&L responded to temporarily fix the severed utility pole until it could be replaced.
