Charges Filed In Pine Lake Park Rock-Throwing Incidents

One adult and a minor accomplice charged in March incidents

Manchester police have charged one adult and one minor in connection with damage allegedly caused when rocks were thrown at vehicle windows in the township's Pine Lake Park section in March.

Kyle Applegate, 18, of the Holly Oaks section of Manchester and a 16-year-old juvenile accomplice, also from Manchester, were charged with 15 counts of criminal mischief so far, according to information released by Capt. Lisa Parker.

The charges came after police received information on April 18 about the 27 instances of criminal mischief reported over about a two week span beginning on March 19, when car windows were apparently damaged by rocks thrown from a moving car.

"The majority of the vehicles were struck with large rocks which resulted in damage estimated at approximately $500 for each vehicle," Parker said in a press release at the time. "Vehicles were parked and unoccupied, and appear to have been random targets."

Additional juveniles were questioned regarding their involvement, according to Parker, though no other charges have been filed.
