Five Injured in Pine Lake Park Collision

Grandfather and grandson are flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center after the collision at Commonwealth and Northampton boulevards

A Manchester man and his grandson were flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, and the man's wife and another grandson were taken there by ambulance on Wednesday after a collision in the Pine Lake Park section that injured the driver of the second car, as well.

According to Manchester Township police, Richard R. Bond, 74, his wife, Patricia, and their grandsons, Kyle, 16, and Keenan Masterson, 15, were in a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound on Northampton Boulevard when it was struck by a 1995 Jeep Cherokee driven by Brooke M. Cook, 27, of Manchester, who was eastbound on Commonwealth Boulevard.

None of their conditions were available Wednesday night.

Richard Bond and Kyle Masterson, who was sitting behind his grandfather, were flown to Jersey Shore for treatment of their injuries, according to the report by Patrolman Douglas Higgins, who is investigating the accident. Patricia Bond and Keenan Masterson also were taken to Jersey Shore for treatment, by ambulance.

Cook, who was alone in her car, was taken to Community Medical Center, Toms River.

In addition to Manchester Township Police Patrol Division, also responding were the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department, the Ocean County Criminalistics Unit (CIU), Quality Medical Transport and MONOC Paramedics.
