Flood Warning In Ocean County: Nearly Three Inches Of Rain In New Jersey

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning until 8 p.m. as New Jersey found itself drenched in as much as three inches of rainfall Wednesday.

Some flooding was reported in Toms River and Princeton while heavy rain was  expected to generate similar conditions elsewhere.

Excessive runoff associated with this rainfall was expected to cause flooding of highways, streets and other poor drainage areas and low lying spots such as underpasses. Smaller creeks and streams were also expected to rise above their banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. move to higher ground.

The impacted counties include: Ocean, Warren, Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Middlesex.
