The 19-year-old former Lakehurst man faces several charges after police received a report that a male subject broke in through a front door in Pinehurst Estates and assaulted a female

A 19-year-old former Lakehurst man faces several charges after police received a report that a male subject broke in through a front door in Pinehurst Estates and assaulted a female.

A warrant had been issued for George G. Gay, 19, who had a former address of 2404 Pinehurst Estates, Lakehurst.

On April 4th at 10:22 p.m. Officer Joseph DePasquale was dispatched to the lobby of Police Headquarters for a report of an aggravated assault victim.  The caller (George Gay) identifying himself as "Kyle" reported his friend was assaulted with a bat and his head was bleeding.

The call which was made from a call box outside the police department is a taped line to the Ocean County Sheriff's Dept. During the call Gay stated he tore his shirt off and gave it to the victim.

The dispatcher is heard attempting to give Gay emergency medical dispatch instructions and at one point you can hear sirens from responding police and first aid personel.  Also, at one point, Gay is heard laughing as the dispatcher is trying to help him.

Upon DePasquale's arrival, Gay advised DePasquale that he was at headquarters to pick up a bag he had left in booking from an arrest on March 29th in which Officer Jeffrey Emmons charged Gay with Criminal Mischief, Obstruction of Justice, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest after Lakehurst Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a male subject broke in a front door in Pinehurst Estates and assaulted a female.

Gay was sent to Ocean County Jail on March 29th on 2,500.00 bail and had later posted bail returning to Lakehurst PD for his property and making the false call to the County dispatcher.

After seeing no assault victim, and a review of a video camera and the time of the call made, the tape was later reviewed and Gay was positively identified.  Gay has been charged with Flase Public Alarms 3rd degree with $25,000.00 bail and has since moved out of Lakehurst.  Anyone with information can contact the Lakehurst Police Department at (732) 657-7811.
