Good Samaritan Killed While Helping To Push Disabled Car off Garden State Parkway

Accident happened at mile marker 74.7 northbound, State Police say

A man who was trying to help push a disabled car off the northbound lane of the Garden State Parkway died when a passing car struck and killed him early this evening, State Police said.

Preliminary reports indicate the man was one of four who stopped to push the disabled car onto the shoulder of the roadway in Lacey Township, Sgt. Adam Grossman said.

"The person at the rear left of the vehicle was struck by a passing motor vehicle," he said. "Unfortunately it looks like a Good Samaritan...they are still trying to sort things out."
