Grand Jury: 2 Men Resisted Arrest in Lakehurst
An Ocean County grand jury handed up the indictment last week
Two men were indicted by an Ocean County grand jury for resisting arrest in Lakehurst in late March.
Terryance B. Wise, 22, of Oak Street, Lakehurst, and Brian K. Whitley, 20, of Monroe Avenue, Neptune, were charged last week after they allegedly became combative with the three officers who attempted to arrest them on March 28.
According to information released by Lakehurst police Sgt. Ronald Heinzman at the time of the incident, Wise and Whitely were arrested after police responded to a disturbance call on Oak Street and were required to subdue the men with pepper spray.

According to police, Wise was charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest with force. He was taken to Ocean County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Whitley was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, terroristic threats including threatening to kill a police officer and resisting arrest with force. He was taken to Ocean County Jail in lieu of $12,500 bail.

A third man, Richard Erving, 19, of Lakehurst, was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice. He was released pending a municipal court date.
