Indictment: Burglar Sold Construction Shop's Equipment

Ocean County grand juries hand up indictments

A Pine Beach man stole equipment from  and sold it in nearby towns, according to an indictment handed up last week by an Ocean County grand jury.

Authorities claim Christopher R. Schoepfer, 25, broke into the shop at 2065 Route 37, Manchester, and took more than $500 in tools and metal equipment on Sept. 22. Schoepfer then sold the materials over the next four days in Berkeley and Toms River, the indictment states.

He was charged with burglary, theft and dealing in stolen property, all in the third degree.

Schoepfer was released on his own recognizance.

  • William C. Baydalla, 29, of Toms River on weapons charges.

Baydalla was arrested Sept. 4 in Manchester and accused of possessing a gravity knife and metal knuckles, the indictment states.

He was released on a summons.

  • Robert Kanaby, 41, of Manchester on a criminal mischief charge.

Kanaby damaged the property of a Brick couple, causing losses in excess of $2,000. He was released on his own recognizance.

  • Michael T. Newnom, 34, of Manchester on an attempted burglary charge.

Newnom tried to break into , 1900 Route 70, on June 21, authorities claim.

He was released on a summons.
