Jackson Man Arrested for Synthetic Marijuana Possession in Lakehurst

Thomas Musto IV of Jackson, charged with multiple drug offenses by Lakehurst Police

A motor vehicle arrest on Tuesday evening resulted in the seizure of several bags of synthetic marijuana, according to Lakehurst Police Department Chief Eric Higgins.

“On Tuesday, May 22, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Emmons stopped a 2001 Audi for a brake light violation. The vehicle was being operated by 19 year-old Thomas Musto IV, from Jackson, NJ,” said the chief.

After Musto’s vehicle was pulled over, a search of the car revealed six bags of synthetic marijuana, which were immediately seized.

“Musto was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Lakehurst Police Department for processing,” Chief Higgins explained.

Musto was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (synthetic marijuana), possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and a maintenance of lamps violation. He was released from custody on his own recognizance, pending an appearance in Ocean County Superior Court, according to the chief.

Drugs are everywhere , what is going on in this world ? They say the 1970's were bad I don't think so ...

Way to go LPD. Synthetic Marijuana, isn't that the stuff they were selling in the convenience stores not to long ago? I agree with you ballyjduf, I think the drug problem today among kids is far worse then it was back in the 70's. I think in the 70"s it was the basic, Marijuana, Coke and Acid.... Now its everything from pills to paint cans......

Something needs to be done with all the drunken hunters walking the streets of Lakehurst with long barrels during deer season. Never mind the solicitors. Pretty sad when the LPD is sitting in the middle of the street BSing with someone and a pickup pulls up, Passenger jumps out with a long barrel in one hand and a brew in the other.

Oh and PS: Just because we rent, do you think that the money we give the landlord doesn't go to pay the taxes? And just so you know, you are correct on one thing, Lakehurst is full of Shit, that's why I refuse to buy a house here.

Richard Larusso..... Reading your comment, I often think when I drive through Jackson and have watched the town develop over the years... It reminds me a lot of how Marlboro used to be and how that town developed. Yes there are many upscale area's of Jackson. A lot of our friends have purchased homes or have built bigger homes in Jackson. The taxes in Jackson are a little high as they are in Marlboro, but hopefully with Chris Christie's tax plan, taxes really will only cap out at 2% per year. enjoy your night and enjoy your town.....

It must really suck when someone starts to question the borough about Harry Robbins holding 2 public positions ( in 2011) in Lakehurst with a base salary of $4,200 and a final salary or $62,000 as per the APP data universe. But when the boro is asked to verify this via OPRA they refuse to do it and are adament that Harry Robbins only held one position with Lakehurst in 2011 and drew a salary of $4,200. The boro refuses to put this on letterhead and respond to this OPRA request. I don't hide behind aliases or AKA's, and if you really knew me you would know my name is Dave McCloud, My 14 yearold son is David McCloud. Notice the double barrelled spelling of my last name by the way. And as my wife said we come from Marlboro, myself from the Morganville section not Jackson! I happen to like Lakehurst a lot and have been asked for years to run for school board by Dr Barneman and Mr Pearlman. Which is why to this day I am still involved with the Lakehurst School District even though my child has completed his 8 years in the school already. I can, and have done more as a private individual than I can as a board member! You can fool some of the people some of the time , but you can't fool all the people all the time! Keep grasping for straws and being a fool. If you think for one second your threats of the LPD will stop me and what I am doing with OPRA you are sadly mistaken. I have sat in Chief Higgin's office and had it out with him and the man treated me with nothing but respect.

Geez when did an article @ seizing drugs (which is a good thing) become a platform for political bashing?! Inappropriate on both your parts; take it outside or to court - boring....oh and you dont even know the difference between synthetic marijuana (also known as Spice - Demi Moore) and incense and bath salt usage....google - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=ms-android-verizon&source=android-home&sky=mrdr&site=webhp&source=hp&q=spice+drug&oq=spice+dr&aq=0&aqi=g5&aql=&gs_l=mobile-gws-hp.1.0.0l5.2227.8667.0.10431.

bhavaja... Starting to read.... Why the hell would anyone want to ingest bath salt or incense, or even smoke synthetic marijuana...??? Which goes back to what I originally said...... Back in the 70's you had your basic drugs, coke marijuana and acid.... nowadays its incredible to see what people will use to get high.... Thanks for the link again.

Can someone from the Lakehurst boro explain just exactly what Harry Robbins 2nd public job was in Lakehurst in 2011? According to Ms Dugan he held only 1 job and made $4,200 in the year 2011. According to public record he held 2 jobs and had a base salary of $4,200 and final salary of $62,000. I have requested twice of the boro to clairify what is a matter of public record on the Asbury Park Press data-universe. I will be making my 3rd and final OPRA request this week then forwarding all the information to the AG within a few weeks. The link below does not match what the Lakehurst boro has on record. http://php.app.com/NJpublicemployees12/details.php?recordID=328975
