Lacey 5-0: Police Arrest Man With Warrant From Hawaii

Although the Hawaiian authorities initially confirmed the extradition, once arrested and at police headquarters, the Hawaiian authorities decided to release Dittenhofer on his own recognizance

A 27-year-old man was arrested Thursday on a warrant from Hawaii, police said.

On Thursday evening, while conducting an investigation into suspected drug activity at 2006 Brookdale Drive in the Pheasant Run section of Forked River, Patrol Officer Peter Donahue located 27-year-old Dillon Dittenhofer living at the residence.

Dittenhofer was known to be wanted in the NCIC system with an extraditable warrant out of Honolulu, Hawaii. The  warrant was listed as being based on two counts of "Dangerous Drugs in the 3rd Degree" under the state laws of Hawaii.

Officer Donahue arrested Dittenhofer at the residence.

The customary procedure for an extradition involves lodging the arrestee in the county jail until a legal process is completed so the out-of-state authority can arrange for transportation of the arrestee back to that state, police said.

Although the Hawaiian authorities initially confirmed the extradition, once arrested and at police headquarters, the Hawaiian authorities decided to release Dittenhofer on his own recognizance.
