On February 23, 2012 just after midnight Officer Robert Seiden stopped a 2001 Subaru operated by Marshall C. Piccoli for driving erratically on Route 70.  Upon speaking with Piccoli, there was a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle.  After on on-scene investigation by Officer Seiden and Officer Iain James, both of the above subjects from Toms River were placed under arrest and charged with the above offenses after Ecstacy was located on each subject during the arrests.

Arrested:          Christi E. Scavella, age 25, Lakehurst, NJ / Miami Gardens, FL

On February 20, 2013 Lakehurst Police were dispatched to a Pinehurst Estates address for a report of illegal CDS activity.  Upon arrival to the residence with members of DYFS who were already on scene, police conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of the above two subjects along with the seizure of $2,100.00 in drug proceeds from the residence.  Sgt. Ronald Heinzman was the investigating/arresting Officer.  Police Chief Eric Higgins, and Patrolmen Iain James, Jeffrey Emmons, Matthew Kline, and Matthew Walaszek assisted at the scene.

                        Use of Cell Phone while Driving

                        Failure to Maintain Lane

Bail:                  $3,500.00 Bail no 10% / Lodged Ocean County Jail

Arrested:            Julio C. Bruno, age 21, South Toms River, NJ

Charge(s):         Possession of Heroin

                        Possession of Marijuana

 Bail:                 $7,500.00 no 10% / Lodged Ocean County Jail

On February 18, 2013 at approximately 11:06 p.m. Christopher Gyenes was stopped operating a 2003 Ford after he was noticed talking on his cell phone in the Lakehurst Circle by Officer Joseph DePasquale.  The Officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle and an on-scene investigation by Officer DePasquale and Officer Matthew Kline resulted with the arrest of both subjects on the above charges.  During the initial search of the contraband, (Marijuana) there was a quantity of heroin that was packaged inside the marijuana bag.  Both men were lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

Harassment

Bail: $5,000.00 no 10% / Lodges Ocean County Jail

On February 18, 2013 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Officer Joseph DePasquale was dispatched to a Brown Avenue home for a disturbance.  Upon arrival, DePasquale noticed Worthy screaming and yelling inside the apartment.  Worthy provided DePasquale with a false name and when his true identity became known, he was arrested on the above charges and a no bail warrant issued by the Mercer County Superior Court for failure to appear on an Aggravated Assault w/a Weapon charge.  Worthy was remanded to the Ocean County Jail.

Arrested: Darrel L. Vandervort, age 53, Lakehurst, NJ

Charge(s): Possession of Prescription Drugs

Theft

Bail: $10,000.00 no 10% / Lodged Ocean County 

Arrested: Andreas Paabo, age 63, Lakehurst, NJ

Charge: Possession of Prescription Drugs

On February 5, 2013 Officer Matthew Kline was dispatched to a Union Avenue home for a report made by Andres Paabo that he was the victim of a “Scam.”  Paabo explained to Kline that he made an arrangement with Vandervort to obtain a quantity of muscle relaxers from him (Vandervort).  Paabo advised Officer Kline that he paid $50.00 for the muscle relaxers and when Vandervort left his home, he (Paabo) noticed Vandervort stole $90.00 from his wallet.  After the matter was investigated by Officer Kline, both men were charged with drug related offenses and Vandervort did admit to Officer Kline that he took the case from Paabo to purchase lottery tickets and crack cocaine.  Both men were remanded to the Ocean County Jail.
