Crash occurred just after 2 p.m. Tuesday

A Lakehurst man is in stable condition a day after the car he was driving struck and downed a utility pole along Route 571 Tuesday.

Borough resident Greg R. Henneberry, 25, was ejected when the 2011 KIA sports wagon he was operating struck a utility pole and flipped on Route 571 about 200 feet east of Ridgeway Boulevard, said Capt. Lisa Parker.

He was transported to by helicopter Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with "serious" injuries, Parker said. He is listed in stable condition Tuesday afternoon, said Maureen Gillespie, the hospital's public relations manager.
