Lakehurst Man Found Slumped In Car At McDonald's Charged With Heroin

A 45-year-old Lakehurst man was charged with heroin possession after he was allegedly found slumped over his steering wheel in the McDonald's parking lot, police said.

William L. Brooks was also charged with being under the influence of heroin. His bail was set at $10,000 no 10 percent set by Judge Damian Murray.

On April 5th at approximately 9:07 p.m. Lakehurst Police received information from a concerned citizen of a male subject slumped over his steering wheel in the parking lot of McDonalds with his foot on the brakes.

Police arrived and discovered Brooks asleep at the wheel. Officer Luke Lanno asked Brooks to exit his vehicle and noticed a quantity of wax bags containing heroin on the front seat. Brooks was arrested by Officers Luke Lanno, Jason Guide, and Sgt. Ronald Heinzman. Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9 Officer Ted Wielichoski and his partner Nash assisted at the scene.
