Lakehurst Man Found Slumped In Car At McDonald's Charged With Heroin

A 45-year-old Lakehurst man was charged with heroin possession after he was allegedly found slumped over his steering wheel in the McDonald's parking lot, police said.

William L. Brooks was also charged with being under the influence of heroin. His bail was set at $10,000 no 10 percent set by Judge Damian Murray.

On April 5th at approximately 9:07 p.m. Lakehurst Police received information from a concerned citizen of a male subject slumped over his steering wheel in the parking lot of McDonalds with his foot on the brakes.

Police arrived and discovered Brooks asleep at the wheel. Officer Luke Lanno asked Brooks to exit his vehicle and noticed a quantity of wax bags containing heroin on the front seat. Brooks was arrested by Officers Luke Lanno, Jason Guide, and Sgt. Ronald Heinzman. Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9 Officer Ted Wielichoski and his partner Nash assisted at the scene.

That's a loosing battle. Why even try ! Those ppl don't even care about themselves, why should we care? Even when the state pays for them to go to rehab or pay for them to be on methadone. ... they still F*ck up and stay looser. They try to hook thier friends on it.so they can have a junkie partner.. that's not a friend.

That's not true Margie, I work at an addiction recovery center where people are being set free from their addictions. Please don't turn you're back on these hurting and lost people. I was one of them and have been clean for 14 years. I see it every day, not alway successful but as long as we have breath we have hope. Amen!
