Lakehurst Police Blotter: Drug and Weapon Charges

The borough's police blotter from April 14 to April 22

Lakehurst Police Department Sgt. Ron Heinzman reported the following arrests and charges in the borough from April 14 to April 22:

April 14

  • Margaret M. Schneider, 44, of Newton, was charged with DWI following a traffic stop near Route 37 and Brown Avenue by Officer Matthew Kline. According to police, Schneider was also charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and failure to exhibit documents.

    Sgt. Heinzman assisted Kline with the stop and a state police officer assisted as a drug recognition expert, police said.

April 19

  • Daniel S. Waszay, 24, of Manchester, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, tailgating and improper use of horn by Officer Ryan Valeri. According to police, Waszay was released on summonses pending a municipal court date.

April 20

  • Christopher A. Lane, 22, of Browns Mills, faces drug charges after being stopped at a routine vehicle checkpoint for not wearing a seat belt. According to police, Officer Jeffrey Emmons then "detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the open windows of the vehicle." 

    Lane was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt, police said.

    Lane's passenger, Timothy M. Imfeld, 21, of Brick, was charged with possession of marijuana and failure to wear a seat belt, police said.

    According to police, Lane and Imfeld were released on summonses pending a municipal court date. Officer Matthew Kline assisted Emmons.
  • Christine T. McCoy, 36, of Jackson, was arrested and charged with DWI after being stopped on Route 37 near Brown Avenue by Officer Ryan Valeri.

    According to police, McCoy also faces charges for reckless driving, refusal to submit to breath testing, driving with a suspended license and failure to change address. McCoy was released pending a municipal court date, police said.

April 22

  • Edward G. Lapaugh Jr., 22, of Cream Ridge, faces a weapon charge and drug charges after being stopped by Officer Jesse Hoydis on Route 70 and Manapaqua Avenue.

    According to police, Lapaugh was charged with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the third degree, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and having open alcohol in a motor vehicle.

    Lapaugh was released on summonses pending a Superior Court date, police said. Manchester Police Officer Brian Volk assisted Hoydis with the stop.
