Liquor Store Fight Leads To Assault Charges For Two Lakehurst Residents
Assailants flee after throwing punches at Toms River woman and daughter
A fight at the Roger Wilco Liquor Store, 401 Rte 70 in Lakehurst, on Friday lead to the arrest of two borough residents.
Lakehurst Police Officers Matthew Kline and Jeffrey Johnson were dispatched to the liquor store for a fight in progress.
Video surveillence showed a woman, identified as Linda J. Clark, 48, assault a Toms River woman, who was a patron of the store. Clark elbowed the woman in the face and punched her in the head, according to Lakehurst Police Sergeant Ronald Heinzman. The Toms River woman was not identified.

The Toms River woman's 19-year-old-daughter, who was waiting for her mother in her vehicle, attempted to help her mother when a friend of Clark's, David W. Dixon, 53, punched the teen in the face with a closed fist, Heinzman said.
Both Clark and Dixon left the liquor store and were later located on Union Avenue by Officers Kline and Johnson.

Clark and Dixon were placed under arrest for simple assault. Clark was also charged with resisting arrest, and received summonses for operating an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. Her car was then impounded.
The incident apparently began after the victim was talking too loudly while Clark was at the lottery machine, according to a report issued by Officer Kline.
Both Clark and Dixon were released on summons pending a municipal court hearing.
