Man Arrested In Connection With Apple iPad Thefts In Manchester

The suspect, Michael L. Lobue, is being questioned for burglaries in Atlantic City, Asbury Park, Point Pleasant and other places

A 33-year-old Barnegat man was arrested this week and charged with burglarizing a Manchester home where two Apple iPads were stolen, police said.

The suspect, Michael L. Lobue, is being questioned for burglaries and other criminal activity in Atlantic City, Asbury Park, Absecon, Avon, Beachwood, Bradley Beach, Howell, Long Branch, Manalapan, Manchester, Point Pleasant and other places.   

On July 2, at 7:23 p.m., police responded to a burglary in the Ridgeway section of Manchester Township where two Apple iPad’s, along with an engagement ring, were stolen.

An Apple iPad was able to be tracked by GPS to an Exxon gas station located at 2000 Route 66 in Neptune Township. This iPad was located in a trash can located on that premises. 

After reviewing surveillance footage from the Exxon gas station, images were allegedly captured of the suspect as he placed the iPad into the trash can, police said.

On Thursday, Lobue was apprehended at his residence on Cannonball Drive in Barnegat as a result of a warrant for a parole violation.

This arrest was made by the Ocean County Regional Swat Team, Barnegat Township Police Department and the N.J. State Parole Special Operations Group. 

Lobue was transferred over to the Manchester Police Department where he was charged for burglary and theft. After being processed for his arrest, he was transferred to the Ocean County Jail in default of $25,000 bail with the no 10 percent option.

Detective Sean Langan from Beachwood Police Department worked along with Det. Adam Emmons from the Manchester Police Department Investigations Bureau for similar incidents in Beachwood.
