Manchester Adds New Police Officers

The department swore in two special officers last week.

The Manchester Township Police Department officially added two more to the ranks last week, swearing in a pair of officers who have already spent plenty of time in the area.

Nicholas Greenwood and Casey McPartlin, who will be part-time Class II officers, were sworn in Dec. 9 by Chief Brian Klimakowski and Mayor Michael Fressola.

Greenwood, who grew up in Point Pleasant, has previously worked for Point Pleasant Police as a special officer; McPartlin, who grew up in Lakehurst, previously worked in his hometown as a special officer.

Klimakowski noted the high finish for both men, who each graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy.

"After 320 applicants, these two officers finishing at the top of the list is a great accomplishment,” he said.

As Class II officers, Greenwood and McPartlin will get several months of training and have full police powers while on duty.

They’re scheduled to begin their assignments and training immediately.
