Manchester Man Accused of Heroin Possession, Burglary in Freehold

Daniel L. Gold is accused of taking shelter in a shed in the back of a Monmouth Avenue residence

A Manchester man is accused of taking up residence in a shed on private property in Freehold while possessing of 59 baggies of heroin.

Daniel L. Gold, 26, was arrested by Freehold Borough police on Wednesday, March 14 after allegedly burglarizing and taking shelter in a shed located in the back property of a Monmouth Avenue residence, according to an arrest warrant.

Patrolman Nicholas Iozzi found Gold in possession of 59 baggies stamped  “High Power” containing a white powdery substance believed to be heroin and a baggie containing a greenish vegetative substance believed to be marijuana, according to the warrant.

Gold was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass and burglary.

Gold was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $80,000 bail. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, according to the warrant.
