Manchester PD Swears in New Officer

Graduated from Toms River North

The Manchester Township Police Department got its newest member on Monday when Mayor Michael Fressola swore in Patrick Mabie. 

After graduating from Toms River North High School in 2004 Mabie graduated from Ocean County College in 2012 and will now head off to the Ocean County Police Academy in Lakewood this week. 

Serving his community is nothing new for Mabie having served on the Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Department and the Pleasant Plains Volunteer First Aid Squad. He has also worked for Quality Medical Transport and as an EMT with the Toms River Office of Emergency services.

Mabie is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having enlisted in 2007 and serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. During his service he received numerous citations and ribbons including the Marine Corp Achievement Medal following a combat mission. Mabie received an honorable discharge in 2011. 

After graduating from the academy Mabie will be put through a 12 week field training program within the department.

The newest officer was sworn in at the Manchester Municipal Complex. He was joined by members of his family as well as Chief Brian Klimakowski, Councilmen Craig Walls and James Vaccaro Sr. as well as CFO Diane Lapp, Township Clerk Sabina Skibo and other township employees and officer from the department.
